Narration in its general sense includes all types of communication. According to narrative theories, each of the different narrative elements, as a part of the central element (core) of the text, has narrative importance. In story writing, the theory of narrative characteristics is shown in the use of narrative elements. Narrative elements create the narrative text and its different systems and layers. Recognizing the boundaries of fiction, history, and memoirs shows how to speak a voice that resonates in the corners of an event to reveal the hidden layers of history from within. In this research, based on narrative theories, we have investigated the narrative style of the history of the forest written by Sadegh Mehrnoosh (2021) using the method of text analysis and library method. The results of the research show that the author is more influenced by the dominant discourse of novel writing in the first and second periods of Iranian novel writing than historians and memoirists; He wrote his history using the elements of story writing. Forest history includes two parts: a- a story with the deliberate use of story elements such as characterization, description, dialogue, conflict, etc. b- a memory or oral history based on images and documents. This narrative style has the boundary between historical novel writing, memory and history, and we can refer to it as "memory, historical story".
