The school of romanticism is one of the biggest and most important literary schools that was formed in England in the 18th century and reached its peak of prosperity in France and then spread to other nations as well. After the constitutional movement, Iranian poets and writers were also inspired by this school by using Western works and applied its intellectual principles in order to create images in their works of art. Sadegh Hedayat is one of Iranian writers and intellectuals who has lived in the West for many years and translated many works and was influenced by them. The works of this Iranian writer have various dimensions and high capacity, which are an indication of their high importance. One of the most prominent works of Hedayat is the short story "Stray Dog".In the current research, it is tried to analyze the structure of the images in the story "Stray Dog" based on library sources and in a descriptive-analytical way, in order to show how the influence of guidance in this story from the romantic school was and which elements and characteristics of the romantic image. It is depicted in the mentioned story. The results of this research show that considering the characteristics of the romantic image (transformation of the artist in nature and objects, shading of images, reflection of the author's individuality in the image, dynamism and movement of romantic images), In order to create a romantic image, Hedayat took his protagonist (the dog) and the dog,
