The atmosphere is an internal element that has root in the characters' emotional and mental manners of the fiction, and it shows up in different modes and situation through the fiction elements, including the linguistic sighs (verbal, non-verbal) and figures of speech.Concerning the impact and role of linguistic elements in setting the literary works. No investigation has been done and just some limited studies have been conducted in relation to the effect of the simile in setting (atmosphere-making).In this Research, by descriptive and analytical way ,The impression of linguistic signs(verbal ,non-verbal) and literary ones has been reviewed and analyzed according to the structuralism theory in setting of ''HAMKHOONE novel", Maryam Ryahi's work, And this conclusion has been obtained that non-verbal signs ,specially, body language ones play more role in setting of this novel than other signs.Likewise, the signs of verbal language have been widely and variously used in making the atmosphere . on the other hand, It reveals that 20 other figures of speech, a part from simile, play more effective role in setting of the mentioned novel.Eventually, Maryam RYahi in ''HAMKHOONE novel'' could individually and in combination utilize 462 literary and linguistic signs to make 25 kinds of particular atmosphere based on subjects as well as the content of the fiction.
