One of the prominent elements in Persian migration fiction is the building and the place where the immigrants live, which constitutes a form of spatial element and plays a specific role in the narrative structure and character development. Given the importance of migration literature as an emerging literary genre in Iran, the current article attempts to examine the underlying dimensions of the immigrants' building in the Nocturnal Harmony of Wood Instruments. Using a descriptive-analytical method, the results indicated that the building in this novel represents a form of cultural micro-diaspora, which reflecting the political and cultural aspects of the homeland, as well as the identity challenges of the characters residing within it. The use of political terminology to describe the events within the building, the residents' crisis of naming, the lack of privacy for the residents, the layout of the rooms, units, corridors, and its unique architecture are among the factors that reinforce the diasporic aspect of the building. The economic issues that immigrants typically face and the attempt to escape from being other and relieve the pain of being far from their homeland force them to establish a kind of micro-homeland in the destination country. Consequently, buildings with special characteristics, generally in immigrant areas and the suburbs of large industrial cities, form a small diaspora that is a place of conflict between immigrants' opinions and their cultural and social connections.
