This paper analyzes the use of magical realism in Iranian fiction and Turkish fiction, with a particular emphasis on four seminal novels: İnce Memed by Yaşar Kemal, the death Aziz Biar Death by Latife Tekin, The Blue Reason by Shahrnush Parsipur, and With Hard Labor by Mohammad Hanif. For this purpose, a concise overview of comparative literature and an introduction to magical realism were presented in addition to shedding light on the reasons behind the particular appeal of magical realism to prominent Iranian and Turkish novelists. Subsequently, the processes through which various forms and elements of magical realism manifest in the works of the aforementioned four novelists were elucidated, highlighting both similarities and differences in their use of magical realism. The analysis revealed novels can be categorized as magical realism. Kamal gathers the entire structure of magical realism in his work, but by aligning fantasy and magic with reality, he keeps his novel at the gates of magical realism. Takin creates her story in the space of magic, legend, and folk beliefs. Parsipur's approach is epistemological magical realism. Hanif, in addition to the materials of magical realism, has also transformed it into a full-fledged "postmodern" novel using all kinds of heterogeneous storytelling techniques of the modernist era. The stylistic approaches and inclinations of the authors situate their works within a historical continuum. In other words, apart from their notable differences, they contribute to the development and justification of a broader stream of magical realism over a span of forty years.
