Criticism of social relations and depicting the conditions and how society transitions from historical crises is one of the most important applications of literature. The format of a travelogue or travelogue is a narrative of a story from the author's objective or mental observations, which also critiques various aspects of society during the narrative. The travelogue of Ibrahim Bey and Masalak al-Mohsenin is part of this group of books that was published before the Constitutional Revolution and has had a great impact on the popular movement in the Constitutional Revolution. The efforts and orientation of the authors in order to inform the people and adapt modernity to the traditional culture of Iran, has become an ideological and reformist movement. With the aim of discovering social and critical themes, from the sociological point of view of literature, this article examines the content and compares the two mentioned works. One of the most important findings of the research is that intellectuals such as Talibov and Maragheh have been able to establish many of their ideas in society and among the people, because they have based their ideas on presenting a new model of modernity that is appropriate and compatible with society and Iranian and Islamic culture. In this regard, first they describe the current situation, then the pathology of that situation, then the ways out of that situation, and finally drawing the ideal situation. Revealing and interpreting these valuable topics helps to enrich the existing literature on constitutionalism.
