Abstract

The aim of this article is to introduce the "Rendname" genre and its place in contemporary Iranian literature, enumerate the known components of this literary genre and its shortcomings, and then rewrite a systematic model of these components for its scientific and codified recognition. Then, it will list these components in the works of contemporary Iranian novelists, especially Mohammad Masoud and Jamalzadeh, as the best examples of Rendname writing. In this regard, the fundamental issue of the article, which has been prepared using a descriptive-analytical method and based on library resources, is what the components of the Rendnames in Iran are in proportion to the works that emerged in the cultural context of this country, based on what paradigm they can be presented, and with what quantity and quality they are displayed in the works of prominent figures in Iranian fiction literature. The main body of the article reflects the characteristics of the picaresque novel (Rendname) in the works of contemporary fiction writers, relying on the works of Mohammad Masoud and Jamalzadeh. In the end, the conclusion is reached that it is not possible to correctly understand this literary genre in Iran by relying on existing models, and the rewritten model of the authors of the article in this regard can be a way to better understand it for critics of the field of contemporary Iranian fiction
