A Critique from the Sociological Perspective of Literature on the Novel of Souls and Lusts by Reza Shabahari

One of the trends in contemporary literary criticism is sociological criticism, which deals with the interrelationships between literature and society. In this type of critique, the researcher, according to his own approach, examines the literary text and reveals the connection of the work with society and how and why. Whereas Reza Shabahari's novel Souls and Lusts, due to its realistic and social aspects, is closely related to the most important social events and contemporary history, namely the victory of the Islamic Revolution and the imposed war; In this research, we try to analyze the content of the novel (the theory of George Lukچcs and Lucien Goldman) by using the method of library study and descriptively-analytically and using the sociological theory of the novel. The main purpose of this research is to discuss the structures that created the work and to find a two-way relationship between the totality of the literary work and the general social situation of the period in which the work developed. Based on this research, the discovery of the relationship between characterization and linguistic structure and its adaptation to the social structure of the novel of souls and desires leads to a link between social and literary structure.
