Abstract
The current research, based on Pearson and K. Mar's model and the hero's journey theory, aims to compare the hero's journey and its glory and decay in the romance Nell and Daman by Feizi Dakani and the novel Sāl-e Balvā by Abbas Maroufi. he main hero of the story performs many actions such as changer, maintainer, protector, improver, destroyer, supporter and obstacle. These actions in the literary genre of romance and novel have different and diverse functions, and the hero is placed in the category of transcendental or transcendental actor. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to investigate and analyze the hero's journey and the quality of awakening and its functions with the method of comparative analysis in the two genres of romance and novel by examining two selected works and to represent the pattern of the personality of these two types of heroes. The result of the research shows that the hero in the romance Nell and Daman has the role of the active subject. "Nell" is a hero who passes through the stage of honor through sufficient travel and experiences, with the support of helpful actors and by overcoming hindering actors, and by accepting the role of ruler, he reaches transcendence and glory and on the contrary. In the novel Sāl-e Balvā, "Nūšā" as an abstract actor or not an active subject, turns into a passive hero who has a course of decay. The present research shows that these two types of genres display
