Abstract

The current research examines the novel "Dream of Tibet" by Fariba Vafi from the perspective of the narratology theory of the French theorist, Gerard Genet, relying on his famous article "Narrative Discourse".The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze this work from the point of view of narratology with regard to Wafi's specific narrative. According to Genet's three-level theory, this analysis and comparison has analyzed this novel from the point of view of narrative time, narrative facet, and narrator's voice, and according to the narrative structure of this work, it has extracted and categorized its narrative features. And it has come to the conclusion that by choosing a narrator with a variable point of view (second person and first person) and creating a multifaceted narrative, Vafi has caused the focus of the work to be threefold. And by using time returns and sub-narratives, he has achieved a special narrative technique that, considering that the narrative started from the final incident, this method of narration has greatly contributed to the advancement of "suspension" and its gradual reopening in the story.
