An Analysis of the Adaptation Process in the film "Silence Reward” From the story "I am your son's killer”"

Abstract

This article tries to show, by looking at the subject of adaptation, how in the process of adaptation, by preserving the theme of the original work, an effective multi-page short story with very few characters can be made into a feature film with multiple characters. In a story and screenplay, the character also plays a very important role along with the theme and content. Basically, the character gives meaning to the content of the story. A character is a person whose moral quality and spirits are evident in his behavior, speech, and actions, and with whom the reader or spectator can easily communicate. The creation of such characters in a story or screenplay is called characterization. The present article examines one of the stories related to the sacred defense called "I am your son's killer" written by JafarDehghan, and creates a character in the film adapted from it, "The Reward of Silence" directed by MaziarMiri, to play the key role of the character in Show a story and a movie.This study will refer to the different methods of filmmaker characterization and the data have been obtained qualitatively and quantitatively by data analysis: the need to add, subtract and change the types of adaptations, character, the main element of the narrative and the role of proper character selection the best and most understandable form
